By | January 9, 2026

Ever since my system was updated to Windows 11, WiFi connection keeps disconnecting automatically whenever the system goes to sleep if not used for a certain period of time. I get WiFi through a USB dongle attached to the USB port. Initially, I thought it might be driver issues, so uninstalled the drivers and installed fresh set of drivers, but the issue continued. Whenever the PC was awakened from sleep mode, I had to restart the WiFi adapter to get it reconnected.

It’s tedious to do this every time as I take frequent breaks and my PC goes to sleep mode often. Did a search and found this permanent simple fix that solved this longstanding issue.

Click on the Windows Button in the keyboard, which opens Start Menu. Then, type “Network Connections” and it opens all the connections in your PC.Network Connections

Right click on WiFi and choose “Properties” from the menu, then you will see the below “WiFi Properties” window.

Then, click the “Configure” button and you will see the device properties window.
