Yay! Got my dream domain name!

By | June 26, 2024

When I was checking domain names for my website back in 2007, I got the expired domain “naveen.info” through backorder at SnapNames, which was the only available good extension for my first name at that time. I posted about it here.

I have been watching other TLDs since then to get a better extension and “naveen.in” is the dream domain I always wanted. In the meantime, I was able to get “naveen.co”

Two months ago, I was casually checking the domains I wanted (I do this once in a while) and “naveen.in” seemed to be expired. I backordered it in hopes of getting it. Unfortunately, it was backordered by many others and it went into auction.

Yesterday, the auction took place and I got my dream domain at a hefty price. It is one of the costliest acquisitions of mine.

If you are interested in drop catching your favorite domains, check my guide to drop catching. This is the only way you can make sure that you get your favorite domains when they are dropped.

I thought you, inforum and one more ID were internal staff to increase the bid amounts๐Ÿ˜‰ You guys were everywhere. Instead of $5 or $10 increments, there were direct $100 increments. Now, it seems you are real ๐Ÿ™‚ I sold three character pronounceable .in domains for $50-$100 few years ago. Now, looking at these auctions, I regret my decision.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving comment. Appreciate it!
